I have a new shiny job at the Botanics.
I was interviewed by an eccentric older gentleman who was so excited by me that he very nearly offered the job to me on the spot and whose only regret, when he spoke to me on the phone later, was that he couldn't offer me a permanent position and a higher salary until the summertime. It's four days on, two days off, my starting salary is a bit over 12000 per year, but that will go up if they still like me as much in a few months.
It leaves me enough time to do more tours and have more time to myself to do more creative stuff - in other words, head space! I haven't had that for so long, I've spent every day for months being miserable because child abuse is not fun, and now here is a random but delightful job with actual career prospects as....
a Ranger! Oh yes! I want little shorts, a big hat and a butterfly net so that I can chase miscreants around the rhododendron bushes.
