Who's have thunk it?

Having your body pumped full of drugs while they cut open one of the tenderest bits of you really fucking hurts! I have been knocked for six. I tried to go back into work on Wednesday, and after 3 hours (in which I did about 20 minutes worth of work), they sent me home. I have been feeling incredibly guilty, and a bit worried about money, but had a mini revelation looking at my mother's life. She has spent her whole life ignoring when she's sick and now she'ss only 66 but has insanely high blood pressure and one day will suffer a massive stroke or heart attack and die.

And she's the one always telling me 'well you might not notice at 25, but you'll notice at 65' about everything from sitting up straight to eating my greens, so I figured taking some proper recuperation time was worth a few people being mildly inconvenienced and a few quid less in my pay packet. So I'm being good and staying home.

Well, largely. I did do Funny Women yesterday which is a once a year thing and quite a big deal. I was worried I'd shoot myself in the foot by going as I had to warn the compere I might fall over half way through my set and all the producers would think I was a mad bint, but it actually went ok. Siân and Johnny said nice things.

Going to go back to bed now so I have energy for Emily's party tonight.

Poor poor ari has to work all day then tour then work tomorrow. I wish there was something pretty I could buy her. She's brilliant.

I wish I was freer timewise/still lived really close by so I could drop by for a cup of tea--but hopefully my work-related nightmares will be over soon and then I will be able to start hanging out with people and live a normal life again! Stay strong honey, and get lots of well deserved rest. x
