computer knowledge

Is anyone a computer buff and not currently moving house (ie not Andy!) and willing to take a look at ours. It keeps freezing when we try and shut it down - I just came home and it had evidently been on the 'shutting down your computer' page for about 10 hours.

Or any advice?
