 Hello kids!

Well, I'm starting writing this at 7:58, but may not finish it before I get get to work. However, I am up, dressed, and have had pancakes.

1. Last week was the first full Crazy Week - working every day - which meant going out to work Monday-Friday but also doing a lot from home on Saturday AND Sunday. For extra added bonus, I had to go to Glasgow on Thursday evening for the Glasgow Comedy Festival launch. Pretty exhausted today, but trying to keep on track. The most important thing to stop me going crazy, I think, is getting enough sleep, so I'm making sure I still go to bed by ten regardless of workload - and try to stop working by nine to give myself an hour to wind down.

2. This week, though, three important things are happening that may interfere with my schedule:
  • Brian's birthday
  • Siân's birthday
  • John comes home!!
How exciting though.
3. I have quite an exciting interview next Monday for a Marketing and Communications Manager post. I applied last year for a lower position and didn't get it, so I wasn't sure whether to apply. I take the fact that I've got an interview as testament to how much I've actually achieved this past year with my career.

4. Applied for a Masters. Many people 'liked' this on Facebook, so yay. It's the Masters in Publishing at Napier. I'm applying to do it part time, and will only do it if I can get it funded. That means I can continue to freelance and have the masters as one of my ongoing projects, learning stuff as I go and eventually get a degree - I don't have an undergraduate degree, so in a way it would be quite good if I got in, as you're supposed to have a good undergrad, but I do have good life experience and am nearly 30 you know.

5. Realised I made an error on my tax return, meaning that the rebate I have already got and spent I was not entitled to, and now I owe them £100s of pounds. Basically, I had two P45s, and I accidentally put the information from one of them in twice instead of putting them both in, and it was the lower-paid one, making me under the threshhold.  I will probably just have to suck it up and put it on the credit card. I did seriously consider not owning up to the error, but the guilt and subsequent bad consequences of it if I were to be found out - it's a very easy thing to spot. So bums ahoy but I'm trying to take it in my stride.  At least I have sort kind of income now.

6. The temp job is really not popping for me. It's answering the phone and really basic admin, with not many folk around. The only good thing is that I've been able to do a certain amount of my own work there, with nothing else to do. But it's out in Dalkeith, and the place is very badly run, and it pulls me down. I have a horrible suspicion that they're going to ask me to stay longer. I really hope they don't.

7. Missing Emily and the kids. Blah.

Yeah that's about it I think. Just working working, including a lot of content for the Glasgow Comedy Festival for The Skinny. Oh but look I did finish this before work!

Have a good week lovelies,

Lizzie xxxx

Also hoping to see people at Sian's thing. I won't be there until 9:30, but I'm definitely hoping to stop by for an hour.
