his biology is sound, and it's a good book written for non-specialists to explain how and why evolution works, but it just got weird toward the end.. the meme theory struck me as utterly out of place. Oh and we had two creationists on our (BSc (hons)) course; whenever evolution was mentioned or discussed in class one of them would just repeat "NO NO NO NO NO NO" over and over until the lecturer kicked them out.

Meme theory was, to be fair, just a chapter thrown in at the end. And one that's caused an awful lot of discussion since. I find the idea fascinating.
