Sep. 30th, 2005 03:13 pmSydney is a diabolical backwater in the middle of bogoffland. It is rude, obnoxious and fantastically unhelpful. We're trying to find a place to live and a job, but the only reason we're doing this is because we're broke. What we really want to do is to go to Tasmania and live in a tree for a while. We're currently camped out on the floor of my ex nun gay celibate aunt. Yes, she's gay, and celibate. And she's comfortable with that. (Tried to get her to tell me exactly what her reasons were for doing this when I got her drunk on Mexican beer but got standard pc response. Will try her again soon with gin.) Last night Lizzie and I were so uncomfortable on our single bed that I actually swore at her in my sleep.
I'm being infected with Sydney rage. But thankfully, we live just around the corner from the Prime Minister, John I have my tongue up both Blair and Bush's arses, dextrous eh? Howard. I am going to trot along in just a minute to throw bricks through his window. Will feel much better then.
Alex, my aunt, is wonderful. She's crazy and vitriolic and we've had wonderful rants about the rest of the Patterson family, which means we spent the first evening getting to know each other by talking about the evils of Rockhampton and my grandmother. Although, apparently grandma said to Alex on the phone that I'm her granddaughter and she loves me whatever I decide to do, and she respects Lizzie. She told my father that she likes Lizzie a lot. So even if she is a bit squeamish about gayness, basically she accepts me and Lizzie and all is groovy! Even if she is basically a repressive matron in many other respects.
