Happy Mondays: Morning!

Morning!
1. Yeah, that's right...morning. I have been up since seven. Every weekday last week I was up before 8 - once on my own merit because the alarm didn't go off. Even on Saturday and Sunday I got up at half eight.
I attribute this partly to going to bed earlier - and once you start one, the other falls in. Friday night we went to bed at cowboy time (ten to ten). leading to the subsequent discovery that half past eight exists on a Sunday morning (even though Saturday night we went to bed quite late).
So yeah, I'm up and dressed and about to breakfast (I need a suitable break between brushing my teeth and having breakfast, as I have orange juice for breakfast (in fact, I have orange juice poured on cereal, which I'm aware many find weird, but I'm lactose intolerant and it's a delicious, healthy breakfast so screw you)) and will leave the house at just before half eight, which is about to seem quite late to me.
2. That's because I was working in Dalkeith last week, which means getting the bus from Leith Walk at eight, which means leaving the house around quarter to. Dalkeith job is ok - it's answering phones and filing, but it pays money and everyone's quite friendly and it's only short term. In any case, I'd like to get the car fixed asap, as it would only take me about 20 minutes to drive.
3. Today though, I am back at Hearts & Minds for the first time. I'm very excited and they are some of my favourite people ever. I am working a slightly shorter day as I have a meeting at The Stand at four, then I'm interviewing a comedian at half six. Tomorrow I'm back at Hearts & Minds, then have a meeting round the corner at 5:05. Wed/Thurs/Fri I'm in Dalkeith, and Thursday night am in Glasgow for the Glasgow Comedy Festival launch. Or the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival (MGICF) as is its full title.
This explains why I'm doing Happy Mondays first thing, in a fit of efficiency.
4. Been doing a lot of MGICF stuff this week actually, interviews and whatnot. I'm trying to be really ahead with Skinny work. It's essentially part of a shift that is happening in my life from my time-honoured 'do stuff at the last possible minute, preferably at 2am' to 'do stuff when you know you'll have to, and have time to do the next thing that comes in'
5. Also things going quite well at Actors Kitchen. That link there is going to look better soon as I have found a free graphic designer who is designing branding and flyers and whatnot for us for free. This is ok because we are all working for free. I will recommend him liberally to all and sundry, presuming he does a good job.
6. Cedric is getting used to his diet. It involves feeding him carefully weighed out portions twice a day, at appointed times, and leaving the food for fifteen minutes, and whatever he hasn't eaten gets taken away. He's been distressed a bit, but it's not been as bad as I'd feared, and we are giving him plenty of love and attention so he doesn't equate food and love.
7. Google Reader Play is awesome.
8. I have registered to do a course in Editing and Proofreading at D&G college (open learning). I can pay for it with an ILA and it'll mean I have testing and stuff to back up my 'yeah I can totally proofread' claim.
9. Heh heh Shaun Ryder (from the 'original' Happy Mondays) is on the radio.
10. I don't know if I ever shared this, but my brother used to have a Happy Mondays t-shirt and I always presumed it was something to do with Happy Days.
11. Broke my 'no going out' rule a little on Saturday night when we hung out with ErinandBrian and drank Margheritas. Also, we watched the first episode of Quantum Leap, after discovering Ari had never seen it. Unfortunately, the first episode is a bit shit. We're going to have to show her a more typical episode. Fun night though.
Look it's only just eight o'clock. Yes, I know that many of you get up at 2am, five hours before you go to bed, and feed your fifteen children on half a loaf of stale bread and a kumquat, then go to work in the mines for fifteen hours and never break a sweat. But for me, this is an achievement, so I remain proud.
Happy Monday,
Lizzie xx

Date: 2011-01-17 09:06 am (UTC)After a later night last than we were expecting it went off at 8:30 this morning, and I went to the study to wake up with the internet, leaving Julie to snooze onwards...
I don't know how I'd cope without flexitime...
