Hello.

We are in Abu Dhabi. On a slightly strange sleep pattern - after arriving yesterday we decided to have a 'nap' at 4:30 in the afternoon and woke up at 4 in the morning, and got up then. Early night tonight I think.

Anyway, wow. We'll be home in a couple of days. (well 3) It sort of got me to thinking all the things we've never mentioned. We tend to moan a lot on LJ, or talk to specific people, and there are some amazing things we've done.

For example, did you know:

1) We saw the Darkness in concert! They came to Brisbane on April 29th and we went with Davo. Davo bought me an amazing Darkness tshirt as a belated birthday present. It was excellent. Justin had been on tour for a while and had obviously eaten all the pies, but did several costume changes from tight leather catsuit to tight leather catsuit. The whole band were proper good old rock stars, standing on amps to belt out tunes, and Justin was so cute with his little hamster cheeks singing about a motherf*****! Ah. A high point was when their new bass player took centre stage, planted his feet on the ground and sang Highway to Hell. It was truly awesome.

2) We stayed at a shagpad (to be pronounced with long vowels) in Montville. I think I mentioned when we were going there (Dave paid for us to go as compensation for comedians staying), but not how great is was. We stayed in a treetops resort, basically this little studio room in the middle of nowhere overlooking the some of the most spectacular views in Queensland. (many photos to follow) It consisted of a double bed, a double spa overlooking said views, white fluffy towels and robes, a real fireplace with firewood provided, DVD and music system (which we didn't use but, not the point) a gorgeous verandah to breakfast on.. it was divine. We went to Maleny, the next village, which had a renowned deli, and bought cheeses and sausage and crusty bread and champagne, and drank champagne in the spa, along with the delicate little chocolates that had been left for us.

Montville itself is amazing, too. Full of the most amazing little craft shops, and a celebrated fudge shop. We went in to buy some fudge for Justin (our friend Little Gay Justin (as opposed to Big Gay Justin), not Justin Hawkins, though that would have been cool) and when we went in Ari said 'what sort of fudge should we get' and I said 'I don't know, but we should let him pack it himself' The fudge lady disapproved. She has maybe seen too many gay fudge-packing jokes.

It also borders a national park, Kondalilla Falls, which has great walks and the most peaceful and beautiful waterfall. That was why Ari wanted to go back to Montville for her birthday, which we did, with Alex. That time we stayed in the Montville Inn, which is nice, and almost didn't get dinner because everywhere closes horribly early (in fact on our way up to Montville the first time we stopped for a night in Mapleton, nearby, and tried to go out for a drink only to be told the pub shut at 7. Nothing else was open. Wierd)

3) We went to a crazy town called Nimben, with Justin. Will wait to write more about that once we're in a different country though.

Other stuff, too, I'm sure.

I have now done 5 comedy gigs and the last one went rather well. Even Ari thought so.

Will write again wuite soon, probably later today.

I'm really, really looking forward to seeing you. So, so much has happened it'll take pints and pints to catch up. I hate the sodding Festival already. Discovered that wearing a press pass and scowling keeps the flyerers at bay but it doesn't stop me wanting to set fire to most of them.

Woo! The Ned and Lizzie world tour is comin' our way! I read your comments in Alex journal. You two are SAINTS. It will surely onlky be a matter of time before the Catholic church recognises clearing enormous cat poo farms and dealing with mean wankers a catagory for canonisation. You're both both beautiful and wonderous.

And that is all I have to say about that,

Love,
Becky.

b>Aw shucks. Thanks Becky. Ned did most of the cleaning though I did the fish tank with some large degree of ickiness. I have decided I prefer fish to cats.

Anyway, would Sir Tristan be about? We're trying to work out how to plug Ned's laptop into the Abu Dhabi internet connection so we can finish downloading some stuff, and I asked Alex and she said ?*? - ask Tristan. So I am.

Here's hoping your new place is shinier than a bald man's polished head.
